About Aoife Mannix

Aoife Mannix is a poet and writer. Her latest collection of poems, Reconstruction, was published by Flipped Eye in June 2024. She has published four previous collections, The Elephant in the Corner, Growing Up an Alien, Turn the Clocks Upside Down and Cocktails from the Ceiling. Her novel Heritage of Secrets was reissued in 2023 and she wrote the libretto for Stephen McNeff’s opera A Star Next to the Moon at the Barbican last March. She has been poet-in-residence for BBC Radio 4 and the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as working as a script editor for the BBC and for the young writers programme at the Royal Court theatre. She has a PhD in creative writing from Goldsmiths, University of London.

About Amelia Roberts

Amelia is a writer, editor, and mentor from Brighton. She has a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Sussex, with a thesis on same-sex desire and intimacy in Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables and its adaptations, including fanwork. While studying, she trained as a lecturer, qualifying for AFHEA and working as a doctoral tutor. Her writing has been shortlisted for, among others, The Literary Consultancy’s 2022 Scholarship and I Am In Print’s 2025 I Am Writing Sci-Fi/Fantasy Competition. In 2025, she was awarded a Curtis Brown Creative Breakthrough Scholarship. Her work has been published in anthologies through the Brighton Prize (2016) and Aesthetica (2025), as well as in The Space Beyond (2025) and Wishbone Words (2026). She is a mentor for the British Fantasy Society.
