Beyond The Spectrum runs creative writing groups for young Autistic individuals across the UK. Led by professional writers experienced in working with young writers, these groups provide a safe space where participants can develop their creative skills, confidence and self-expression.

Emma Pass

Emma Pass is an award-winning and Carnegie Medal nominated author of four novels for teenagers and adults. She's been a Patron of Reading and First Story writer in residence, and now works a reader and developmental editor for The Literacy Consultancy and as a mentor and writing group leader for Writing East Midlands, supporting adults and young people with their writing as part of WEM's Momentum and Beyond the Spectrum programmes. Emma lives near Chesterfield. She was born with mild cerebral palsy, lives with a chronic illness (CFS ME) and is autistic and ADHD.

Chris Bonnello

Chris Bonnello is an autistic advocate, author, international speaker and former teacher (both in special education and mainstream primary). He runs the autism advocacy platform Autistic Not Weird, and has won multiple awards for his advocacy, also delivering speeches as far away as India and Sydney Opera House. He is the author of six books, including the neurodiverse dystopia series ‘Underdogs’.
