About Sabrina Mei-Li Smith

Sabrina is a writer, lecturer, and researcher from Leicester. She teaches Creative Writing at De Montfort University and with Leicester Adult Skills and Learning Service. She has almost ten years of experience delivering creative writing workshops to all different types of groups, including street homeless people and dementia patients. Her book, ‘Creative Writing for All’ will be published by Bloomsbury in 2026.

About April Wakefield

April Wakefield (she/they) is an autistic (possibly AuDHD) writer, artist, reptile lover and liberation theology enthusiast. Her favourite genre is fantasy, and she is passionate about diversity and representation in fiction. Their work has previously appeared in the Beyond the Spectrum anthologies “The Room is Just For Now”, “Our Time and Space”, and “Rhyme & Reason: autistic writers creatively interpret research on autistic writers”. She is also honored to have her art featured on Beyond the Spectrum’s promotional bookmarks. Thinking about, writing about, and drawing dragons is what she enjoys most.
