About Emma Pass

Emma Pass is an award-winning and Carnegie Medal nominated author of four novels for teenagers and adults. She’s been a Patron of Reading and First Story writer in residence, and now works a reader and developmental editor for The Literacy Consultancy and as a mentor and writing group leader for Writing East Midlands, supporting adults and young people with their writing as part of WEM’s Momentum and Beyond the Spectrum programmes.

Emma lives near Chesterfield. She was born with mild cerebral palsy, lives with a chronic illness (CFS ME) and is autistic and ADHD.

About Courtney Ward

Courtney is a neurodivergent and chronically ill writer, artist, published photographer and advocates for others through her creative mediums and helps acceptance come thorough within society. More well known for her poetry, She speaks the truth loud and clear bravely, turning the heartache into heart-make.

She’s a published poet featuring in many places including In anthologies: “our time and space” and “rhyme and reason” by Writing East Midlands, “Sisterhood” by Spokes Sisterhood festival Bradford and Steel Jackdaw magazine in October 2024.

She’s performed at festivals such as Kettfest and freestone fest. In 2024 she had the privilege of performing at Corby Pride alongside the writing group that she used to run. She has also attended talks and meetings supporting young people that are autistic and also with mental health difficulties.

She was also nominated for the Creative Award under the Spirit of Corby Awards in 2024.
